Entertainment that’s thoughtfully Included

The importance of a Professional DJ

An exceptional DJ is crucial to the success of a wedding celebration. They set the tone from the ceremony to the last dance, infusing the event with sound and energy. The DJ acts as the party's voice, the Master of Ceremonies, and the evening's entertainer. Having collaborated with numerous professionals across countless events, we've found that most deliver a fine performance.

DJ compatibility

The differences between DJs become more apparent when considering how they adapt to the venues in which they perform. Professional DJs bring powerful sound systems and sophisticated mixing equipment, yet this doesn't necessarily ensure an outstanding listening experience.

Why a built-in sound system matters

How often have you been to events where the music was so loud that conversation with the person next to you was impossible? This is a common frustration most of us have faced. Unfortunately, it's an issue that venues typically fail to address, even those with high-quality sound systems installed.

Eagle Lake addressed this challenge with a well-researched and expertly engineered entertainment system. Recognizing that just as one wouldn't converse with a friend 30 feet away, we installed speakers up close to and overhead of the dancefloor to create an immersive sound experience. The audio quality is so vibrant it's akin to wearing headphones. Meanwhile, guests at their tables can enjoy the music from afar without it being intrusive, a nuance that portable sound systems cannot replicate.

Why Eagle Lake includes a choice of DJs

Through the years we have collaborated with numerous entertainment companies, all offering comparable services: personalized playlists, ceremony music, cocktail hour background music, wedding party introductions, dance invitations, and guest interaction throughout the evening. Prices vary from $1,600 to upwards of $5,000 and more. No allowance in price is made for the venue's sound system; hence couples pay full rate.

To save our couples money and improve their experience, we reached out to our most favorite emcees and negotiated terms for each season, which we could then pass on to you in our price. In addition, our DJs helped to engineer the sound system, so they are skilled in its operation. You’re not required to use our DJs, but you’ll miss out on the excellent entertainment benefits we’ve worked hard to provide for you. In the event of rain, an outside DJ is less likely to react quickly to last minute ceremony changes, as they may not be familiar with our setup. There is also a risk they may mishandle a system they are unfamiliar with, so oversite is required. To keep your guests comfortable and our neighbors happy, the use of portable sound systems is not allowed.

We do not recommend hiring amateur DJs such as a cousin or friend for your wedding. Since it is included in your package, the need to consider such an option should not arise. Invite them to your party as a guest instead.

Live Music

With advanced notice, our venue welcomes and supports live acoustic music during the ceremony and cocktail hour. However, horned instruments and live dance bands are not permitted outdoors or inside the reception space. We do allow bands to setup in the chapel with the connecting door to the reception tent shut. This creates a separate dance room, or nightclub, that can be decorated to your heart’s content.
